Since ____ New York State has celebrated everything maple related with its annual Maple Weekends the last two weekends in March. This year, 2015, the dates are March 21-22 and March 28-29. Maple producers in Tupper Lake, Paul Smiths, Wilmington, Lake Placid, Saranac Lake, Keene and beyond are adding extra incentives to the normal maple sap tours. Adirondack Inside Public Skating

Image
Ice Skating is a fun Adirondack family activity that my family enjoys all winter long! When the weather outside is cold and the ice thickens on the Adirondack lakes and ponds, we take out skates with us.   Inside we have the opportunity to take off our skates, warm up our toes and listen to the music piped in over the sound system.  Here are some Adirondack Civic Centers . So strap on those skates and hit the ice!

Saranac Lake: Book Launch "Everybody Has Feelings"

Image
Saranac Lake guidance counselor Jennifer Tissot has authored a book called “Everyone Has Feelings, A Book About Emotions For Young Children” with photography from middle-school teacher and professional photographer Karen Miemis .  The 20-page paperback book is simple in design with expressive photos of children demonstrating an array of emotions. Local kids fill the pages, expressing their best (and sometime worst) feelings from being happy to mad and everything in between. Jennifer gets right to the point, letting kids know “everyone has feelings” in a non-rhyming way.
