Living Able Series with Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts, Blue Mountain Lake

All performances of HONK are open to the public and will be held at the Long Lake Central School Auditorium. The Saturday, April 13 performance will take place at 7 pm while the Sunday, April 14 performance will take place at 2 pm. Tickets are available for $10 general admission.  This year’s performance of HONK is loosely based on Hans Christian Andersen's "The Ugly Duckling.” Watch while the strange-looking duckling “Ugly” goes on a quest to find his real mother after being lured away by a sneaky Cat. Ugly encounters some hardship but also encounters friendship and love.   Previous performances for the LIVING ABLE Series have been A Year With Frog and Toad , Rockin’ To OZ and You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown . The LIVING ABLE SERIES provides  workshops and performance  opportunities for individuals  with disabilities and Sunmount  Staff at the Sunmount location  in Tupper Lake, the Arts Center  in Blue Mountain Lake and  other off-site locations.

Adirondack Museum Winter Cabin Fever Schedule 2012

Each winter the Adirondack Museum offers a Sunday series of special events that appeal to a variety of tastes. Lectures, writing workshops and concerts are some of the offerings for the 2012 winter. Adirondack Museum offers FREE admission for kids 17 and under FAMILYPALOOZA

Familypalooza! Join the Adirondack Museum and kick-off your summer with an action packed day for families. Children age 17 and under will be admitted free of charge on July 9 for this special event. The Albany Radio Disney Station  will be at the museum to start the day! Enjoy 2 hours of fun, games and prizes while rocking out to the hottest kid-friendly songs. The Utica Zoomobile from the  Utica Zoo  will be on-site with animals of New York State. Special programs will take place between 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Members of the  Adirondack Mountain Club, Albany Chapter will be offering introduction to kayaking and safety and rescue demonstrations. The action-packed demonstrations will take place on the museum's pond in the morning and afternoon. Let the kids burn off some energy with a trip to the bounce house, or to the museum's Tot Lot and Little Log Cabin. After that, grab a scavenger hunt map and explore the Adirondack Museum's exhibits. Camp Out for Families: An Overnight at the Adirondack Museum Join the Adirondack Museum and the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts for a fun-filled night July 8-9, 2001. See the exhibits by lantern, get dramatic about Adirondack history, hear songs and stories by the campfire, and have a sleepover in the  Woods and Waters  exhibit. For families with children ages 7 - 13;  1 adult chaperone requested for every 1 to 4 children.  Program starts at 5:30 p.m. and ends the following morning at 9:30 a.m. Pre-registration required.
