Where in the world are those countries participating in the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics

Find each participating Olympic country!  Where in the world is Pyeongchang?   The 2018 Winter Olympics is taking place in PyeongChang, South Korea, known for Odaesan National Park, with trails crisscrossing the Taebaek Mountains.   The   2018 Olympic Winter Games  opening ceremonies are getting ready to kick off on February 9, 2018 EST. It can be lived streamed at 6 am from the official Olympic website or can be viewed on the NBC network at 8 pm. Print out this worksheet of NOC Countries One fun exercise throughout the Olympic Games is to track where each country or flag that enters the stadium is situated on the globe. Print out the list of participating National Olympic Committee (NOC) countries* and their flags to the left. Print out a copy of the world map here. Go to the bottom of the page to print out a larger version divided into four sheets. Just tape the four sheets together. (There is a slight overlap.) First Adirondack Paintball Biathlon of Season

The first paintball biathlon of the season was held this weekend at Dewey Mountain in Saranac Lake. To celebrate Sochi, the kids braved cold weather to follow in the heels of Dewey mountain alumni Annelies Cook, Tim Burke and Bill Demong.  Dewey Mountain is known in the Adirondacks as being the place that gave those Olympians there start. 

Adirondack Paintball Biathlon Series 2014

No one has to wait for the Sochi Winter Olympics games to participate in an Olympic sport. Once again all young adults have an opportunity to be part of the Adirondack Paintball Biathlon.                                                        The entry is $10/event for the first six events ($5 for NYSEF, NPSC, ORDA Pathfinder, Dewey Mt and TLNS athletes). There is a $20 admission for anyone participating during the Grand Finale as part of the NYSEF Nordic Kids Festival on March 23.                                                Any child from 8-14 can register and compete in any or all of the 2014 Adirondack Paintball Biathlon Series. Any child competing in all seven events gets a free event t-shirt. No experience is necessary though each participant must have his/her own cross-country ski gear. Some kids race against each other while others just try to pull a personal best. Each race will vary depending on the location. Each venue will have a slightly different f

Adirondack Fun: Ski at Mt Pisgah with U.S. Ski Team

The Saranac Lake Ski Club is hosting a fun ski event with U.S. Ski Team members at Mt Pisgah on Friday March 19th from 4-6 pm. Ted Ligety, Andrew Weibrecht (not skiing) and a number of other Olympians are planning on being at Pisgah from 4-5:30 training with racers. An autograph session will occur from 5:30 to 6 in the lodge. $15 to ski at Mt Pisgah includes the lift ticket. Additional donations are also welcome. If you would like to donate but can't be present please send donation to Friends of Mt Pisgah, DBA Saranac Lake Ski Club, PO Box 978, Saranac Lake, NY 12983. Friends of Mt Pisgah is a 501c3 corporation. Donations are tax deductable. Twenty years ago volunteers raised money and installed snow making. Ten years ago volunteers raised the money and built a new base lodge and now the 1950's T-Bar is beyond repair. This will be a unique opportunity to ski and meet our U.S. Ski Team members.
