Lake Placid: Spring Garden Series


The 2012 Lake Placid Sunday Garden Series is FREE on Sundays from 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Heaven Hill Farm, 302 Bear Cub Road, Lake Placid

March 11 - KEEPING BEEZZZ
Dick Crawford of the Champlain Valley Beekeepers Association is a long-time beekeeper and honey producer who has mentored countless novice North Country Beekeepers through the years. A general
interest program for all kinds of bee aficionados.
 March 18 - Gardens Near and Far
Start the gardening season early by enjoying slides of unique and exceptional
gardens from Alaska to Argentina to Australia and dream of improvements to
your own garden. Master Gardeners Heidi Roland and Frank Lescinsky will
lead a discussion to inspire creative ideas in gardening for gardens right here in
the Adirondacks. Participants are encouraged to bring pictures and ideas of
gardens that they wish to share and discuss.

March 25 - Chicks...Chickens...Eggs
Raising and keeping chickens at home for eggs, meat, pest control or as pets is
one of the hottest trends in local agriculture. This roundtable is for anyone
considering chickens in their backyard and those with chicken stories to share.
Beth Spaugh, of Rehobeth Farm, will lead the discussion and share her
extensive experience in all aspects of chicken farming. Other local experts will
offer real life glimpses into their varied experiences with backyard chickens.
