July 7 • Comedy & Magic
Tim Dumas
Fun filled, high energy magic and comedy. Watch as the children become the performers, laugh, and are entertained!

July 14 • Dora's Dream
Lake Placid Sinfonietta
Entrance young listeners with a narrated story about toys coming to life. Follow this with marching and singing to work out the wiggles, and you have the perfect introduction to the orchestra for the very young.

July 21 • Martha Gallagher
The Adirondack Harper
Songwriter Martha Gallagher sings songs for all ages, accompanying herself on the harp. Songs about nature, home, family and friends, all with a joie de vivre that make her concerts a delight for everyone.


July 28 • Jack and the Beanstalk
Seagle Music Colony
A fun-filled adaptation of the familiar fairy-tale using music from Gounod's Faust. Includes a brief introduction to the performance and a post-show meet and greet with the characters.


August 4 • The Jungle Book
Pendragon Theatre on the LPCA stage!
Kipling's classic story of Mowgli's life in the jungles of exotic India is the original animal planet... with humor, adventure, and just a touch of Bollywood!


August 18 • Salute To Arts Day!
Green Market WednesdayJoin the LPCA for the Sixth Annual Summer Celebration! Featuring a variety of family friendly artists and activities from 10am to 2pm including clowns, musicians, facepainting, crafts and more!


August 25 • Comedy Juggler Extraordinaire
Steve Gratto
A fast-paced and exciting blend of classic vaudeville skills such as juggling, unicycling, balancing, and rope walking... kids of all ages will be gasping in awe and begging to be part of the show!



Special Dance ProgramFriday, July 30, 10:30am
ONSTAGE PerformanceRKB dancers, and 40 students of all levels kick up their heels in a variety of short dances in a public performance. Tickets $10, at the door only; children under 8 years free.

Enjoy these simple plans for this simple bench that provides a perfect place to observe the natural world.  C onsidered by many as the father of wildlife management and of the United States’ wilderness system, Aldo Leopold was a conservationist, forester, philosopher, educator, writer, and outdoor enthusiast . “That land is a community is the basic concept off ecology, but that land is to be loved and respected is an extension of ethics.” Though his book, The Sand County Almanac is a must read, it may be something that can wait for anyone with very young children. For everyone else, it's a wonderful example of nature writing that is a timeless connection to the land. My family first made our first  "Leopold Bench" as a group effort at the Aldo celebration at the A dirondack Interpretive Center in Newcomb, NY. It remains one our most comfortable outdoor benches. Adirondack Treats: Make Your Own Mirror Lake Inn Chocolate Chip Cookies (recipe)

Mirror Lake Inn Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe Back by popular demand! My favorite cookie recipe!    *reprinted with permission Mirror Lake Inn Chocolate Chip Cookies , Lake Placid, N.Y. Mix until light and fluffy 2 cups butter 2 cups sugar 1 cup brown sugar Blend and add to sugar mixture:  4 eggs Add: 4 tsp. vanilla 4 cups flour 3 tsp. salt 2 tsp. baking soda 4 cups chocolate chips 2 cups broken walnuts (I omit) Drop onto greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 8 minutes. Yields 4 dozen. Tip: I whip up a batch and keep the dough in the refrigerator and bake a few cookies at a time! Enjoy! *if you stay at the Inn you get complimentary afternoon tea and chocolate chip cookies daily. If not, you can make your own and pretend!
