Adirondack Regional Calendar of Events: January 13-15,2012

Friday - 1/13/12 For Art Events around the Saranac Lake  Robert Louis Stevenson Memorial Cottage and Museum is now open by appointment only until July 1. Whiteface Memorial Highway is closed to drivers for the season. There is snow on top of Whiteface!

8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.  Whiteface Mountain is open
8:30 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. Take a scenic Gondola ride up Whiteface (weather permitting) 
9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Olympic Jumping Center (Elevator and chairlift ) is open. 
9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Paul Smith's VIC trails are open. Call 327-6241
9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. High Falls Gorge is now open for the season! Open Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays-Sundays (closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays)
9:30 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Titus Mountain, Malone is open
10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The Wild Center is open for every weekend (Friday-Sunday) all winter!
10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Lake Placid Olympic Museum open
7:30 p.m. Lake Placid Center for the Arts presents "Grease Sing-A-Long" , $6


Saturday - 1/14/12 
All Day: Snowshoe up Debar Mountain ($40) with the Paul Smiths Interpretive Center
8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.  Whiteface Mountain is open

8:00 p.m. The Adirondack Mountain Club's winter lecture series with Peter Fish about Backcountry Travel at the High Peaks Information Center (FREE)

10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. the Adirondack Interpretive Center's building is open Tuesday-Saturday. Trails are open from dawn to dusk every day. 
10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Goodsell Museum presents "Medicine in the North Country"
10:00 a.m. Every Friday bring pre-schoolers to the Johnsburg Library for craft and story time (FREE)

In Redford there is a new Genealogical Society in Redford for all those looking and searching for interesting family and local history for the Saranac Valley.
