Adirondack Family Time Calendar of Events: December 30, 2011-January 1, 2012

There are a variety of activities and events happening around the Adirondack region this weekend that are great family fun!  Around the High Peaks, Lake Placid and beyond go to Saranac Lake for an official FIRST NIGHT celebration. Enjoy the Champagne Bus around Inlet (keep off those roads, please!) Enjoy Fireworks over Lake George.

Friday - 12/30/11 For Art Events around the Saranac Lake  Robert Louis Stevenson Memorial Cottage and Museum is now open by appointment only until July 1. Whiteface Memorial Highway is closed to drivers for the season. There is snow on top of Whiteface!

8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.  Whiteface Mountain is open
8:30 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. Take a scenic Gondola ride up Whiteface (weather permitting) 
9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Olympic Jumping Center (Elevator and chairlift ) is open. 
9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Paul Smith's VIC presents "Adirondack Sports" a nature program for children 6-10, $20/API members, $25/non-members, Call 327-6241
9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. High Falls Gorge is now open for the season! Open everyday between Christmas and New Year's

1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. ZumbaThon at the Lake Placid Elementary School to raise money for the American Heart Foundation $1 fee with prizes

Towns of Webb and Inlet Snowmobile Trails Open for the Season (weather permitting)


9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. McCauley Mountain is open
10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. the Adirondack Interpretive Center's building is open Tuesday-Saturday. Trails are open from dawn to dusk every day. 
10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Goodsell Museum presents "Medicine in the North Country"
10:00 a.m. Every Friday bring pre-schoolers to the Johnsburg Library for craft and story time (FREE)

Lake Champlain Adirondack Family Time
In Redford there is a new Genealogical Society in Redford for all those looking and searching for interesting family and local history for the Saranac Valley.
