The Palace Theatre in Lake Placid in addition to regular shows will have a 2:15 p.m. matinee each day through the holiday week and will be open on Christmas. The State Theater in Tupper Lake will be open on Christmas as well as throughout the holiday week. Don't forget FREE popcorn on Tuesdays when you bring your own container. 


Friday - 12/23/11 For Art Events around the Saranac Lake  Robert Louis Stevenson Memorial Cottage and Museum is now open by appointment only until July 1. Whiteface Memorial Highway is closed to drivers for the season. There is snow on top of Whiteface!
8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.  Whiteface Mountain is open
8:30 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. Take a scenic Gondola ride up Whiteface (weather permitting) 
9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. High Falls Gorge is now open for the season! Open every day between Christmas and New Years!) closed Christmas Day only! Mine for gems! 

9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Olympic Jumping Center (Elevator and chairlift ) is open. 

9:30 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Titus Mountain, Malone is open
10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The Wild Center is open every weekend except Christmas Day (Friday-Sunday) all winter!
10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Lake Placid Olympic Museum open
noon- 5:00 p.m. Cookies and Cider at The Local Fringe in Saranac Lake+
1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Make an ornament, storytime and nature walk at the Paul Smith's VIC, 327-6241 to register
3:05p.m. Public skating at the Saranac Lake Civic Center ($5/skater)

11:00 a.m. Bowling opens at Romano’s Saranac Lanes in Saranac Lake
11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Skate with Santa at the Saranac Lake Civic Center (sponsored by Guide Boat Realty)


7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Public skating at the Lake Placid Olympic Center 1932 Jack Shea Area


Sunday - 12/25/11

1:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Take the Lake Placid Skeleton Experience (only happens once a year)


Central Adirondack Family Time
* All season - drive through Long Lake and view the Holiday Light show - over 14,000 LED lights with 40 minutes of Christmas music at 46 Stone Lane

Towns of Webb and Inlet Snowmobile Trails Open for the Season (weather permitting)
The Strand Movie Theatre in Old Forge will be open every day through Christmas and the holiday week

Lake Champlain Adirondack Family Time
In Redford there is a new Genealogical Society in Redford for all those looking and searching for interesting family and local history for the Saranac Valley. 
The Hollywood Theatre in Ausable Forks will be open Christmas and throughout the holiday week! Go relax at the movies!
