Adirondack Calendar of Events: What to do April 15-17, 2011

The Adirondack Weekend Highlights for April 15-17, 2011.

The snow is melting but that isn’t stopping Gore and Whiteface Mountains from giving everyone one last opportunity for spring skiing. The Whiteface Gondola is closed today (Friday) for anyone wishing for a recreational ride. Call or go online to see about Saturday and Sunday.

Remember that hiking/snowshoeing or skiing in the backcountry gets a bit tricky now. It may be time to do a few in town walks or other activities while in the Adirondacks.

My children are well out of car seats but that doesn’t mean I still don’t remember how challenging it was to make sure all the straps, hooks and latches were tightened properly. Around the Adirondacks State Troopers, EMTs and other qualified personnel hold FREE car seat checks. It only takes a moment to stop by and make sure that the car seat is attached appropriately. As always, safety first! Have a wonderful Adirondack weekend full of events and activities.
