Adirondack Festivals: September 17-19, 2010

Adirondack Harvest Festival,Essex and Clinton County A day long festival at Rivermede-Snowslip Farm in Lake Placid of community pancake breakfast, agricultural demonstrations, wagon rides, animal exhibits, local foods and treats, pumpkin painting, horseshoes, live music, barbecue lunch kicks off the start of a week long festival of farm tours and Adirondack Harvest activities. Starts Saturday, September 18 9:00 am - 5:00 pm and continues all week.

Great Adirondack Moose Festival, Inlet, NY (September 18 & 19)
Indian Lake is sponsoring the first Moose Festival in the hamlets of Indian Lake, Sabael and Blue Mountain Lake. Hikes, maps of the Mosse River Plains, fly fishing and tying demos and exhibits, Antique & Classic Car Show, Adirondack Quilt Show, Backcountry Safety Program, local business owners and contractors will be on hand, Sidewalk Sale, fun & activities for children of all ages as well as BRUCE THE MOOSE!

Stems & Steins Wine, Beer and Food Festival, Old Forge, NY -(September 18 & 19)
Stems & Steins is a celebration of New York State wine, beer and food with an Adirondack flourish. Select producers and marketers of wine, beer, and food within New York State are invited to come represent the unsurpassed variety this state has to offer! Stems & Steins will take place the last weekend of Summer, at the George T. Hiltebrant Recreation Center. Presented by The Arts Guild of Old Forge, Inc. Admission charged. Celebrating David Amram's 80th Birthday.
6PM Reception at Shoreline Restaurant, Free. 7PM Cruise aboard the Adirondac with music by the David Amram Quartet (Cruise tickets $25, reservations: 899-3000).
Saturday, Sept. 18, 1 to 6 PM: Daniel Kelly Trio; David Amram Quartet ~ the first 80 years; The Randy Newman Project.
Special Saturday evening performance 7:30 PM: Christian Scott Quintet.
Sunday, Sept. 19, 1 to 6 PM: Sharel Cassity Quintet, Buster Williams Quartet with Stefon Harris and Cindy Blackman; Samuel Torres Group ~ Yaoundé.


Crown Point Historic Festivalm Crown Point, NY Crown Point State Historic Site will hold a Festival of Nations on Sept. 17 and 18 to celebrate the nations that struggled for control of the Lake Champlain Region during the French and Indian War. The event also marks the 100th anniversary of Crown Point as a New York state historic site. Activities will also be held across the lake at Mount Independence in Orwell, Vt.
